10th November - End of season/pre 2013 season Golf Croquet meeting
Frances Colman again chaired the meeting that attracted a smaller turn out that last season's 'wash-up' meeting, perhaps because only some fine tuning was required to the arangements for next season's Leagues programme.

17th November - 2013 Solstice date
Frances Colman anounced that the 2013 Solstice Challenge Golf Croquet Doubles Tournament will be held at Thames Valley CC on FRIDAY 14th June.
30th December - GC Final venue applications invited (reminder)
GC Leagues Manager Frances Colman would like to remind all Clubs that applications are invited to host the Final of the GC Handicap League.
The minimum requirement is two good courts and the preferred date will be one of the weekdays 16th-19th September.
Whilst entries are still coming in for all the GC Leagues (deadiline is 13th January), it is already apparent that numbers will be sufficeient to
necessitate a 'North / South' devide as last season, and hence the need for a final.
Other finals may be required too, but only if participation numbers in those leagues permit geographical devides.
24th November - Annual General Meeting
The AGM of the Southern Croquet Federation was held at Winchester on this day.
Chariman Martin Brandt (Basingstoke) stood down as Chairman after many years at the helm but will remain i/c AC.
Our New Chairman is Chris Roberts (Phyllis Court) (pictured right) and we have a new committee member too in Richard Jenkins (Hamptworth)
who is charged with improving our Tournament offerings.
All other committee members retained ther positions and the previously co-opted member Richard Stevens (Hamptworth),now sits as a full
memeber i/c AC coaching.
Minutes have been circulated to all Club Secretaries and although they are too detilaed to publish on this web site in full, copies are available
by e-mail from SCF Secretary Jim Pertwee (see the 'Contact us' page).
9th January - Just 4 days to go! - Deadline for GC Leagues entries (reminder)
GC Leagues Manager Frances Colman has recieved completed Leagues entries form most Clubs.
Reminders were sent out last week but still a few returns are awaited.
29th January - Armarda Trophy in winners' hands at last
The 2012 Armada Touranment winners Gary Yeates (Winchester) & Sue Bradley (unnattached), finally got back in the same place at the same time to allowing manager Rita Nunn to belatedly present them with their trophy.
Well done the pair of you!
30th January - Hamptworth GC 'C-level' spawns overflow event at Winchester
Richard Jenkins got so many applicants for his GC 'C' level tournament at Hamptworth on 13th & 14th April, that with in 48 hours of advertising it, he was able to approach Winchester to put on an extra touranment there to cope with the over-flow!
Top marks to Winchester for grasping the opportunity and to Keith Mackenzie-Ross in particular for agreeing to be the manager.
So that's 16 players at the Hamptworth Tournament, 8 more playing at Winchester and apparently there are still more on the waitning list!
7th February - Chris is the New Editor of The Croquet Gazette
Chris Roberts, Charman of the Southern Federation and Phyllis Court, is delighted announce that he has been appointed as the new Editor of the Croquet Gazette.
The Gazette is the bi-monthly magazine of the Croquet Association (our national governing body) and Chirs' first edition as Editor will be published in April.
The magazine, which dates back to 1904, is delivered to the homes of every member of the Croquet Association and to the secretary of every croquet club.

3rd February - GC Leagues Finalised
GC Leagues Manager Frances Colman announced the final line-ups for the 2013 season.

18th February - Hamptworth add extra Winter GCTournament to satisfy demand!
Richard Jenkins has just announced that he has added and extra single day GC tournament to the Hamptworth Club's impressive Winter Series.
Thee were so many palers on the waiting list for the 9th & 10th March events that Friady 8th maarch ahs been added to satisfy the demand.
If any Clubs would like to replicate Hamptworth's success (which they started with just two courts), please give Richard a call on 01722-325410 - he will be delighted to tell you how to go about it.
10th March - Double Hamptworth success for Heather Masheter
Heather Masheter of Phyllis Court (left) scooped a second tournament victory of the winter in this month's Hamptworth Handicap GC Tournament.
This was her second sucess of the series and included wins over two 3 handicaped players; Keith Southern (Swanage) and Roger Price (Bransgore).
1st April - GC Level & Handicap Leagues fixture dates nearly completed
Really well done Fixture Secreaties! The GC season is now all set with nearly all the Level and handicap league fixture arranged now.
Attention needs to turn on those Cubs playing in the Doubles Only League, from whom little has been heard. And similarly, few AC fixtures have been declaired thus far.
2nd April - Date of AC Armada Touranment is announced - SUNDAY 16th JUNE
The SCF's AC Armada Tournament will take place at Winchester CC on Sunday 16th June - all inquiries to Rita Nunn - 01794 515005
And Date of GC SOLSTICE Touranment is confirmed as FRIDAY 14th JUNE
As previously announced, the SCF's GC Solstice Tournament will take place at Thames Valley CC (Abingdon) on Friday 14th June.

13th & 14th April - Helena off to Worlds again
Helena Fensome heads off to the World GC Chamiponships in Cairo this week wher once again she will be representing her native Finland.

30 April - Solstice entries flooding in & League programme starts
Spaces are running out for entries into the GC Solstice tournament - so hurry to get your enrty in to Richard Jenkins (see below) to avoid disapointment.
East Dorset have been edged out by the odd rubber in 7 in both of their opening fixtures in the SCF Level League in this their debut season with our Federation

27 May - Hamptworth win but Phyllis Court dip out in National 'Murphy' Shield matches
Hamptworth scorrd an impresive win over the strong Hurlingham club (details delow) while Watfford were too good for Phyllis Court for the second year running.
Hamptworth beat Hurlingham 4-3 on 27th May 2013 at Hurlingham.
Vic Stilwell (2) & Richard Smith (3) beat Richard Hoskyns (2) & John Malvern (4) 7-4, 3-7, 7-4, Hamptworth win
David Cooper (3) beat Hugh Carlisle (4) 7-4, 7-4 Hamptworth win
John Lindsay (5) beat Richard Jenkins (5) 7-5, 7-5 Hurlingham win
Richard Hoskyns beat Vic Stilwell 3-7, 7-4, 7-5 Hurlingham win

On a gloriously sunny day in the magnificent grounds of The Hurlingham Club a very close encounter saw Hamptworth Croquet Club finish the day 4-3 winners in the first round of The Murphy Shield. 30th April - GC WC - End of road for Helena all over for Helena in Cairo
Cruel luck for Helena Fensome at the GC World Chapionships when her only match win was discounted in the black calculations alond with all results involving Belgian Eric who withdrew unexpectedly on day 4.
Helena didn't make the cut into the main knock-out but played on in various plate and bowl games, however futher sucess proved illusive.
30 April - Phyllis Court win in National Championship
Phyllis Court got their National Inter-Club Championship off to a good satrt with victorty over Bath.
They now face defending Champions Ashby in the next round.
2nd June - Roberts 14th in European Championship as Fensome wins Plate
Chris Roberts upheld his seeding posiotion but was disapoionted with 14th at the Europen Chamionships ath finished it's four day programme in Budleigh Saalterton (Devon) this afternoon.
Robets 'made the cut' into the Main event knock-out wit ease but enjoyed no more sucess after that.
Phyllis Court Clubmate Helena Fensome, faailed to quaalify for the main event but did win the consolaation plate event.
